Bug Description

Hello,
I upgraded to Gutsy with my main account which doesn't have an ID/GID of 1000:1000

$ id
uid=11059(rangzen) gid=1101(rangzen) groupes=4(adm),20(dialout),24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio),30(dip),44(video),46(plugdev),110(netdev),111(lpadmin),113(powerdev),114(scanner),116(admin),1101(rangzen),1103(vboxusers)

After the update, the ID is ok in all files but not the group!
/home/user is set to GID=1000 and for a lot of files and directories : Firefox, Desktop, etc.

I loose some right but some people gain a lot :/

Thanks for all the rest which seems ok :)

I tried to reproduce this bug (changed the user on a fresh install from uid, gid 1000 to 2000) but I didn't observed the bug. Could you please include the output of "id" and "ls -l ~/" to the report ?

It was an install from a 7.04 and I updated with the 'update-manager -c'

rangzen was an id/gid 1000/1000 and I changed them by hand after the installation (7.04), maybe some files that I didn't change was used during the update to 7.10?

I don't see any reason for this to be still incomplete (all questions have been answered), and Michael hasn't replied for some months. Setting this back to "New".

 Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

From a fresh install 8.10, init 1, change in passwd and group, chown in /home
Then update-manager -d
The upgrade to jaunty seems fine

So I think that we can close this one :)
