Bug Description

During "Distribution Upgrade" step 2 "Modifying the software channels" getting "Error during Update" box:

"A problem occured during the update. This is usually some sort of network problem, please check your network connection and retry."

Sub-text box reports:

"Failed to fetch http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/gutsy/multiverse/source/Sources.bz2 Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)
Failed to fetch http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/gutsy-updates/main/source/Sources.bz2 Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)
Failed to fetch http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/gutsy-updates/restricted/source/Sources.bz2 Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)"

I have been able to download & successfully unzip the .bz2 files from their respective locations using Firefox so the error 2 (file corruption) is would appear to be misleading.

I have also "rm /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/* before making another attempt with no change in results. Hopefully after hitting "Submit Bug Report" I'll be able to upload my /var/log/dist-upgrade/* files to this bug log. I will try.

Posting /var/log/dist-upgrade/* as promised.

Also note: The very first time I attempted the upgrade it got past this point & actually seemed to download around 1100 files then fail due to some files not being downloaded correctly. It has never made it that far again.

Running Feisty AMD64

UPDATE: I have since moved past this error. At this point it appears as though this was nothing more than timeout due to network congestion. No surprise, I suppose, on the first day of release.
