did you have the dpkg terminal output logfile to go with this too? if not, this bug is absolutely useless, and should be closed.

tell me what it is, and where I can find it and I will send it to you.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add the log files from '/var/log/dist-upgrade/' to this bugreport as attachments to your bug report? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. dist-upgrade log dir attached.

Thanks for your report.

The original reporter issue is most probably related to one of his other report as bug 152592 and bug 152589 . But without his log files we can't help much. If it's still an issue could you please attach the requested files to this report.

The other reports are due to other problems. However it has been reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. Is this still an issue with latest Ubuntu release?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it happened during the upgrade process to 8.10.

Thanks for your reports and the logs.

@eXtace: this problem is fixed in the current update-manager, it always uses --force-overwrite
@kai: this is a bug in the nvidia-glx package
@Eineki: this is a bug in the php-sqlite3 package
@Tolan: this is a bug in the mythdvd package

While update-manager showed a similar error message all of them are caused by the packages that update-manager was installing, not update-manager itself.

I'm closing this report because as Michael said even if update-manager showed a similar error message all of them are caused by different issues.

@Daniel, if it's still an issue for you then could you please file a new report and attach the files from '/var/log/dist-upgrade/' Thanks.
