Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

After installing all updates on my laptop running 7.04, I saw the Distro upgrade note on the Ubuntu homepage, so opened a terminal and tried as suggested, (update-manager -d). It ran for a bit, then popped an error window saying:

"Could not calculate the Upgrade

A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport."

I'm sorry it's not a duplicate of bug 46245.

I've reviewed logs and it's quite hard to difference if the bugs reported by Ian Davey, poop, Wilfredo and Samuel are the same.

Some util lines:

Original:
2007-09-28 13:04:51,170 DEBUG Marking 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade
2007-09-28 13:04:59,110 DEBUG Can't mark 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade (E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.)

Ian Davey:
2007-09-28 18:47:38,814 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.'

poop:
ERROR:root:Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.'

Samuel Greenway:
2007-10-06 20:24:35,722 ERROR No new dist found
