Upgrade tool crashed for Kubuntu version 7.04

I got the following error message:

I conjecture that is is a problem with the memory.
Hence I made a "df" with the result

The distribution upgrade window is still open, but I have no idea, what to do.

thank you for the bug report. This is actually a known issue that is logged as bug 107188. You can follow that thread for more details. Just to confirm for definite it would be good if you could attach the log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade.
