Bug Description

Hi,

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop i386 on my Lenovo Thinkpad X61s.

Wireless is very very slow, quite impossible to do the updates, internet surfing very slow etc.

Regarding bug #1018423 I tested kernels 3.5 rc5 and 3.6 rc4 with no better result.

Thank you for you help on this very annoying problem.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in update-manager (Ubuntu):

I found this : http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-910606-start-0.html

I tried the following :
1) create a new file /etc/modprobe.d/iwl4965-disable11n.conf with the following content:
     options iwl4965 11n_disable=1
2) Reboot

It seems to be a good workaround as I am now able to do apt-get update and install new packages.

I will try to remove the manually installed 3.5rc5 kernel.

Works well also with standard 3.2.0-30-generic-pae kernel from ubuntu repositories.
