I have used Ubuntu Tweak's Source Editor and deleted net/nilarimogard/webupd8/ubuntu precise main list.

It tested me quite abit and was I getting frustated and vexed every thing I tried was just not working.

So full marks to UBUNTU TWEAK once again its come to my rescue its a great source and very easy to use.

Thanks for help Robert Roth you certainly got me thinking.

All the best Brett.

Sounds like you're all set for now, Brett, that's good. As a bug, I think this is an instance of bug 886273, update-manager not being able to deal with corrupted sources.list files.
