Bug Description

OTA 10.1, BQ Aquaris E4.5
I see several similar bugs posted here, but none of them match this exactly.

The Today scope is unable to scroll back to the top where the day is shown. I can reproduce this by doing the following.

1. Start the phone
2. Drag and release to update Today scope
3. Quickly scroll down to bottom of Today scope and swipe to the next scope (App scope) before the update is finished.
4. Swipe back to Today scope.

Now the Today scope will be unable to scroll to the top. I have to reboot the phone to get the Today scope working again.

Also, when Today scope is stuck, open an app and long swipe right to go back to Today scope, this will make it look messed up until I click it once and it will snap back to being stuck in the lower half again.

Hi Henrik,

Thanks for filing. This is most likely a duplicate of a unity8, so I will add unity8 task and let them mark as duplicate (or not).

I have a:
current build number: 305
device name: krillin
channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/bq-aquaris.en

And I am not able to reproduce :(

Changed in today-scope:

Yes it is most likely a duplicate and no i can't reproduce either.

When you say "swipe to the next scope (App scope) before the update is finished.", what update are you referring to?

Which contents do you have in the today scope? Could you take a series of screenshots (and maybe blur out any private content) of when it looks ok, i am mostly interested in how tall each section is and how many sections you have.

When I say swipe to the next scope before update is finished, I mean the "pull to refresh" meta update for Today scope, sorry I will use the word "refresh" from now on :)
When I swipe to the App scope I still get the red thing going back and forward indicating the Today scope is not yet refreshed.

In Today scope I have:
Day Info
Upcoming
Holidays
Weather Channel
Calls
Messages

I have taken three screenshots.
1. Initial refresh, everything is ok here.
2. When I have swiped back again from the Apps scope and I'm locked in the lower half of the Today scope
3. When I have opened an app and long swiped to get back to Today scope.

In the second screenshot I'm doing the pull to refresh to show you it's stuck, it should be scrolling to the top before I can pull that refresh thing down.

I took three more screens to better show the tallness of the Today scope.
2-1. top screen of today scope
2-2. lower screen of today scope
2-3. after getting stuck in lower half

Those are not the screenshots i wanted to see, i want to see the whole scope when it looks good, so basically i want https://bugs.launchpad.net/today-scope/+bug/1569976/+attachment/4636753/+files/screenshot20160414_133936941.png but without the "release to refresh" + as many screenshots needed to see to the end of the scope.

Also is this on wifi or orver 3g?

Also how much time is the bottom activity bar still going on when you switch to another scope?

Albert, I think the second set of 3 screenshots I posted is what you were looking for :)

I did this over wifi, but I just reproduced the same bug with wifi off, I had to be a lot quicker though since it updates faster with 3G. The bottom activity bar is only going for a second or two in the Apps scope.
I also reproduced this once when I by accident clicked one of the sections in the Today scope instead of swiping to Apps scope, the result was the same.

Right, didn't see them, thanks

Actually with that setup and without using WiFi (i.e. over 3G) i can reasonably easily reproduce the problem (once in 3 or 4 attempts).

Thanks for the hints!

Actually steps to reproduce do not include WiFi nor reloading the scope, it's basically

* get yourself a short scope, like today with only date, events, weather and recent (it should barely use more than the height of the screen)
* scroll down so header is hidden
* switch to another scope
* go back to the scope, scroll to top and repeat for a few times

Here the bug is triggered in 3 times but depending on how long your scope is it may be more

I am still seeing this bug with 15.10 r14. The top of the today scope seems to get truncated whenever there is not enough data on the scope's page to fill the screen.

This means if I have the date, weather, messages, activity and Twitter scopes enabled inside the Today scope, it displays properly. If I remove a couple, like the Twitter feed, then the date at the top of the today scope is cropped off. Re-adding a scope to pad out the data shown on the page causes the Today scope to display properly.
