Bug Description

The notification LED on the device does not blink when a new SMS arrives. Its always static off. It however does lighten up when the button physical button is pressed.

Yes, works on krillin, doesn't work on arale.
Unity8 uses the android-headers package to accomplish that for krillin. That gives us the following options to initialize lights:
LIGHT_ID_BACKLIGHT
LIGHT_ID_KEYBOARD
LIGHT_ID_BUTTONS
LIGHT_ID_BATTERY
LIGHT_ID_
LIGHT_ID_ATTENTION
Krillin works fine with LIGHT_ID_

According to ogra we can control the light using: /sys/class/
| Oliver Grawert (ogra) wrote : | #4 |
echo 1 >/sys/class/
(as root) makes the led blink
echo 0 >/sys/class/
stops teh blinking
the triggers are rather for specific use cases ...

My plan will be checking the behavior on flyme and try to apply that on
Arale.

Refer to the patches for MX4 at;

Currently MX4 didn't seem to implement all notifications listed #2, otherwise only uses a few of locally defined led notifications. If we need to support all notifications, we could support them simply as #10 but it might be combinations of brightness & blinking mainly because it only has a white led and blinking itself is pre-defined by kernel (user can only enable/disable it).

@George: note that this has not been released yet, we usually keep bugs in "Fix Committed" state until the actual OTA was released to the endusers ...
