unity8 session does not start on ubuntu-desktop-next image

Bug Description
When trying to launch the Unity8 session from the ubuntu-desktop-next image (20150524), the desktop session does not start. The system shows a text console. The last output is about that is waiting for plymouth to finish.
After plugging in a network cable, the image reported an automated crash report as

Obviously not critical since it's been two months unfixed, i'll lower to High
Also can you clarify what is the ubuntu-desktop-next image and what different it has with regular ubuntu?

The Ubuntu Desktop-Next image is not and official Ubuntu image and ceased to be generated or supported 29-05-2015.
