Bug Description

During the initial boot the Ubuntu phone asks information regarding various things like language, passcode etc. Timezone or date/time is not asked, it always defaults to UTC+0.

This confirmed with Ubuntu 14.10(r16) and 15.04(r01)

FWIW, we'd probably rather set the time (and timezone) automagically on boot, either from GSM or over WiFi. Whether we then want to give the user the option to change the auto-detected TZ remains to be determined.

It has been defaulting to UTC+0 although I live in Finland, that's UTC+2.

Yeah, what I described we're not doing yet, but I believe that should be the goal. I remember in one of my previous phones I had to set up the time, date and timezone just for it then to be corrected by GSM... Felt like a waste of my time, really.

+1 with Saviq, ideally we should detect the timezone via WiFi or GSM. The initial wizard is not the correct place for this setting anyways. If the time is set wrongly for whatever reason, users should be able to amend it in system settings.
