The JS part of the Carousel has been reviewed from performance PoV before - and while we potentailly might still reduce it, it'd probably be better to take a step back and look at it again.
A rewrite in C++ would probably reduce resource consumption, so we could look at that.
There's also the lingering feeling that the PathView could be used, if it supported non-looping interaction.
