What do you see? What do you not see? What works and what doesn't?

compiz fail
Try to load and close

automatically after much trying,
the system sets the screen but the windows are without decorations (window borders or title bar or buttons)
and unity does not load, nor the top bar.

Try loading a shell leaving a launcher on the desktop through unity 2D, but I can write anything in this console

I have the same problem. It worked fine in 11.10, but after upgrade to 12.04, Unity 3D will not run. Login in 2D is fine. With 3D
it is very slow. I see the wallpaper and eventually the desktop icons. There is no launcher and no bar at the top.
Sometimes ctrl-alt-t will get a terminal and sometimes not. The terminal is not in a window, but running metacity
will provide a frame and title bar. Running unity, or unity --reset does not help. Removing compiz config files
does not help.

The same failure (i.e. wallpaper and icons but nothing else) occurs with sessions started as gnome and gnome-classic.

same happens to me, I work well in 11.10 and 12.04 in the compiz does not help me, I thought that was the only
i work now en unity 2D,
