Thank you for your bug report, do you have steps to trigger the issue? Does it happen when opening lot of applications at the same time? It seems a bit like bug #985539

I'm experiencing the same problems. For me it happens more frequently (after 15 minutes max.) and not only in the text balloons.
Also the desktop background and applications get garbeled.
Could be a bug in the intel X driver, I also have an integrated Intel Graphics driver.

I am also experiencing the three problems, wallpaper, icons and text baloons after a period of time, which varies between about 15 minutes or four hours.. Eventually hitting the dash key with keyboard or mouse will just lock the desktop up completely, There is then no way to save anything or shut down applications neatly.

A sure way to reproduce:
* reboot
* fire up firefox
* open e.g. http://www.tcmag.com/magazine/pix_dump_49/

A lot of the images will be garbeled, and now also the desktop UI has problems here and there.

My is the same is there any solution to the problem yet. I made it better by changing the screen resolution to 1024x768, but still did not fix it completely.

I still have the same problem and desperately looking for a resolution.
