Bug Description

The new app installer code for displaying the icon in the launcher and it's installer progress bar may have a glitch.

On a fresh install of beta2 candidate.

I installed vlc see the attache screenshots for a visual clue to the issue. the name is waiting to install enven though it finished installing. if I right click there is no name at all.

However my second install Geany seems to be fine.

With unity 5.12-0ubuntu1, I get the "waiting to install" when I hover the mouse, but the right click works fine (showing "VLC Media Player"). Is this still a unity issue?
