Bug Description

This bug affects Unity in Ubuntu 12.04 Beta.

To repeat:

- Press Super key and do a search for an application (firefox for example): a list of applications show up. Dismiss with Esc

- Now press Alt+F2 and do a search for application (firefox for example): a list of most recently used applications show up.

- Visually they both look and fee the same but behave very differently. This is potentially very confusing to power users.

In the example above there is no confusion between the two prompts, however if you are searching for AMD Catalyst Control Centre then the results are different and confusing. AMD Catalyst Control Centre only starts when the Super key prompt was used, but for some reason it does not start when Alt+F2 prompt was used (even the commands displayed are different).

The same confusion can be observed with the Chromium brower, entering the first few chars of chromium with the Super key prompt works fine but it does not with the Alt+F2 prompt (even though the entire word chromium is entered).
