Bug Description
When trying to log in after the update to unity 5.8, the system locks up either on the login screen, or just shows the wallpaper without the panel or launcher. I can still move the mouse, but there is no response to any clicking. The only solution for me was to go to the alt+ctrl+F1 terminal and restart the system. Unity2D seems to work fine. Attached is a (hopefully helpful) log of unity during its startup.
