Bug Description

I upgraded in the last day or so, and a previously solid Ubuntu 12.04 install, has gone down hill fast.

If I am using an application (for example chrome as I write this) everything is fine.

If I try and use anything involving unity (the dash, the global menu, the app switcher) I get lots of flickering. With dash, you can see chunks of the application underneath flickering, and as best I can tell, this is the same for the launcher and the global menu.

I'm not really sure where to start in terms of debug for this. Except to say I am using a Samsung NC10 which has the following graphics controller:

unity:
  Installed: 5.8.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 5.8.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 5.8.0-0ubuntu1 0

        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-proposed/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GSE Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

Also affecting me following update at 8pm GMT 23.03.2012
Launcher flickers as mouse pointer crosses it and carries on until application starts
Dash flickers again as pointer hovers over it
