Bug Description

I realize this is a dup of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/956061 but it was requested there that this be filed with apport. since that doesn't want to work either I'm filing this bug so someone can have my apport logs. It is the exact problem as mentioned in the other bug. all my indicators disappear right after login. I also get no indicators in gnome session. However wingpanel still works. as does awn. (but that's gtk2)

There isn't much to see except an empty panel. But I can tonight, just got home. Things to do. Do you want unity or gnome classic or both?

did you do something like bug 955816 or removed indicator-appmenu ??

Yeas I have menuporxy set in my xsession.d folder. I had removed indicator-appmenu before, but I put it back because that breaks HUD. Though HUD only seems to want to show me options from the indicators. I'm starting to suspect that menuproxy setting is causing that as well.

This morning's update in 12.04 beta seems to have fixed the problem for me. Top-right indicators are back and functioning normally. My screen looked like Kearny's screenshot from comment #7, though the pictures of my kids look much better than that red barn he has on his desktop ;).

I still have the same HUD problem indicated in #6, though I have never messed with my xsession.d folder and I don't see menuproxy in there at all. But that is probably another bug...if anyone knows a bug number for that please indicate it here.
