Bug Description

Yesterday I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 beta to my harddrive for testing. I found that the workspace switcher in Unity 3D produces a lot of graphical glitches when moving around windows from one to another workspace. It makes unity feel very buggy.

I have made a Youtube video with my Android phone to record the problem; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUtdVsj8FKc&

I am using a Nvidia card and the current proprietary Nvidia drivers. I also tried gnome-shell to see if it gives me the same kind of glitches, but it doesn't.

When I reported the bug I tested it in 12.04 beta 1 with my Nvidia Quadro FX 1500 graphics card. When 12.04 was released I did a free install and I had just upgraded to a Radeon HD 6850 graphics card. The glitches are still there. I used the proprietary driver for both cards.

It seems to me that the bug is persistent, no matter what graphics card I use. I guess a lot of people are having this problem, but I don't understand why people are not reporting the bug.

This is my first time adding a bug so I'm not sure if a comment is all that suffices to acknowledge that this bug is also affecting me.

Fresh install of 12.04. Has been happening since the start.
It makes everything look extremely messy when this occurs.

@sarton85 thanks yeah I noticed that after writing the comment.
Have you got any corners of the screen as hotspots for the workspace switcher or the application switcher?
I do and I had a big glitch with the workspace switcher where the whole screen went grey from, what seemed like an application becoming huge and covering the whole screen. I say this because I got the animation of the application reappearing when it zoomed out, so to speak, as if I was using the application switcher. Anyway, since that glitch neither of the hotspots work. I'm sure a log out or restart would solve this but I don't feel like doing it at the moment. Either way it's a problem.

@Colin Shirran, I don't have any corners of the screen configured as hotspots, so I haven't seen the glitch, but is sure isn't normal behaviour. You could file a new bug for it; https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs. If you want help to reconfigure the hotspots the Ubuntu Forums are a better place to find it; http://ubuntuforums.org/

Good luck!
