Bug Description

I've been having some issues with the dash not recognizing input when I quickly hit <super>, start typing, and hit enter. If I do it too quickly the dash will show up but nothing I typed gets inputted into the dash search. This is very annoying, and it not a problem I have with any other launchers (i.e. gnome-shell activity view, synapse, gnome-do ect...). I have to wait 1-2 seconds after the dash is opened for it to take my input.

Sometimes I also have a similar but slightly different issue. Once again, if I very quickly hit <super> start typing and hit enter it will not open the correct program, but instead a random nautilus window. For example if I quickly open the dash, type "clem" and hit enter nautilus pops up. If I open the dash, wait 1-2 seconds, type "clem" and hit enter clementine opens as expected.

My laptop has decent specs (2.53 GHz i5 460m, 4gb ddr3, 640gb hdd, intel ironlake graphics). I am using ubuntu 11.10 64 bit and using unity 3d.

I believe the first issue that you described is bug 891210 could you look into bug 891210 and let me know if that is what you actually face.

The second issue is bug 856205 and also bug 828582 could be related as well.
