I should state there is only one alias on the dock at start up until you use it to open up a Nautilus window, at which point the second alias appears (without the shortlist incorporated).

This behavior seems redundant, wastes dock space, and perhaps even counter-productive considering the shortlist doesn't show up in the second alias.
