I've attached a screenshot, please pay attention to the very top of it.
It has nothing to do with the monitor settings, I see the bug at a notebook where I neither haven't nor couldn't have changed any settings.

Do you have the same issue with lightdm (when you log in) or is it only visible in unity? It might also help if you attached your /etc/X11/Xorg.conf file.
