Top panel not aligned correctly

Since last update 9.08.11 there is a space between the top of the screen and the top edge of the panel allowing the background image to be seen. Pic attached...

I don't this so its caused by http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~unity-team/unity/trunk/revision/1522 this bug is reported for a version of unity which does not have anything to do with this commit, it could actually be unrelated to unity(?)
