The white rectangle collection of update-notifier, battery-status

Since latest updates (beside Bug #814295 and Bug #822672) update-notifier and battery-status display huge white rectangles on global menu which overlay other indicators.
(Screen resolution 1366x768)

Battery-status is displayed anyway by indicator-power.
Update notifications are displayed by indicator-session.

Expected.
Get rid of the white rectangle. Don't display redundant messages.
