There should be an option to make AppMenu visible all the time

[WISH / IMPROVEMENT]
I find uncomfortable to move the mouse to the AppMenu area to start showing menu topics and *then* search where is the menu I'm looking for and navigate to it; on the other side it would be super handy to see where is located the menu I'm looking for and move my mouse directly to it.
I already know that Ayatana project specifies this behaviour -which is a big mistake to me- but at least there should be an option to choose wether one wants to have AppMenu shown allways or hidden.

though this clearly breaks unity design but a patch implementing such feature might have a little chance.
