Systray partially misplaced, partially missing

I have three applications running which should be in the system tray / systray: Spotify (in Wine), Banshee and DavMail (with SWT).

Spotify shows up in the middle of the title bar on one screen, neither of the others are anywhere to be seen. This makes it impossible to quit or control Banshee, once it's hidden in the tray, without killall(1), and impossible to configure DavMail. See attached screenshot.

I have an apparently strange dual-monitor set-up with the larger monitor to the left of the primary; i.e. the Unity menu down the centre of the two screens (which works terribly, but unrelated). This is the default configuration, because I couldn't work out how to change it.

When DavMail shows notifications, they appear from the top left corner of the display area, but I can't think of why it would think it's tray icon is over there.

Changing search terms have lead me to find bug #755234 and bug #768313 , which sound similar, but nobody seems to have my "one working icon" issue; feel free to duplicate if you agree.
