Bug Description

TEST CASE:
1. Launch a terminal and give it the focus. It is used as reference for the application with focus
2. Press 'ALT+F2' to open 'Run a command'
3. Enter '/' in the search field + 'Enter'

Result:
Nautilus opens in directory '/' but gnome-terminal is still focused. The expected behaviour is that Nautilus has the focus.
I tried with other application but only nautilus exhibit this issue.

Tagging this with regression-release, as this can not be reproduced on natty, with 3.8.16-0ubuntu1~natty1.

I can confirm the issue here, It is most likely one of the compiz focus issues

I found the cause and solution to this problem. Quoting the answer given on Ask Ubuntu question 75967 "Nautilus windows are not focused when launched via hotkeys":

It's a focus prevention issue.

Launch CompizConfig Settings Manager and got to General Options → Focus tab. In the Focus Prevention Windows field, put : !(class=Nautilus)

A user mentioned that this bug is a known issue in Compiz and may have been fixed upstream, but I cannot find the bug report.

I have since found that disabling focus prevention (see post #9) is the best way around this. I have been running my system this way for a month and a half with no problems. Perhaps this should be changed in Ubuntu default Compiz settings?
