Binary package hint: unity

Maximizing an xterm window in Unity makes it move continuously by a few pixels every second in the top-left direction. (i.e. the top left part of the window keeps moving out of the screen)

Looks like a bug in the wobbly plugin. I'll look into it at some
point, but more as a backlog thing.

I'm experiencing this same issue and the video attached by Ramkumar shows it perfectly. It seems limited to xterm (all the other applications I've tried, including gnome-terminal behave normally). I'm also running 11.04 on 2.6.38-8-generic, however, I'm on x86 running legacy Gnome with an nvidia 4200M/PCI/SSE2 (275.19).

P.S. I also have wobbly windows enabled in Compiz. Disabling that option stops the behaviour so I think you're on the right track.

Yes, it's moving towards the top-left because that's the default window bit gravity -- and looking at xev(1) as the window moves, it's receiving non-stop ConfigureNotify events. Fail.
