Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

The first time I launch the Applications Lens after the computer boots, there are no icons displayed on the overlay. There is just a blank, black overlay with the "Search Applications" box at the top. If start to enter text in the search box, application icons then begin to appear.

This has only started happening over the last few days, but I have no idea why.

Seems like the Place Daemons don't start up. Is this 100% reproducible after bootups? Or does it occur only after some bootups?

Thanks for your response, Bilal. Yes, it's 100% reproducible. It happens on every boot.
