Bug Description
The dash is out the monitor when the monitor resolution is 1152x864.
The reproduction:
1) Set the monitor resolution is 1152x864,
2) click the ubuntu icon on the top left corner,
3) and see, the dash is 'out the monitor'.

Seems like you are getting the desktop dash mode instead of the netbook. The code suggests(i believe) if the horizontal pixels are >1279 and vertical pixels are >799 then the desktop mode should work. Are you sure you did not use the command line option to override?
try this in terminal and see if the problem is fixed.
$ gsettings set com.canonical.Unity form-factor Netbook
