Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

This is happening to me quite often, but so far I couldn't reproduce it. It seems random, but I'm going to do more testing. The weird thing is, that even after restarting compiz, the lounger behaviour is not fixed. Anything else seems to work perfectly, so the launcher is basically functional, it's just not hiding. The only way to make it work is a logout/login.

There have been a few cases fixed in trunk, where auto-hide stopped working, you'll see that version of unity on the day Ubuntu-11.04 releases as a 0day SRU.

(It might be better if we had it somewhere for people to test and verify the fix, before release)

Changed in unity (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium

Marking Fix committed, as per Omer's comment. It would be helpful if you would test the fix in trunk and check if it fixes the issue. If not, re-open this bug.

Tested more and I found a way to reproduce it. I'm using Clementine and when I drag some songs from the list, then the launcher unhides and doesn't hide until logout. So far I couldn't find another application that triggers the same issue, even if it seems, that when dragging stuff around, the unhide behaviour is rather heretic . But this is another story which needs more testing and probably another bug report.

I've updated the short description of the bug since I tested it with another qt application, the SoundKonverter, and got exactly the same result.
