Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

On my pre-natty desktop I had set up an icon that launches a Gnome terminal with psql in it. (It launches gnome-terminal explicitly, not implicitly by running psql with the "in a terminal" option, so that I can set a meaningful title). I then upgraded to the natty beta as per Canonical policy.

Now, for many of the terminal windows I open, Unity incorrectly places "open window" markers at my custom psql icon instead of at the Terminal icon.

Yes, it's perfectly reproducible for me. Create a launcher that opens
some program in gnome-terminal, then press ctrl-alt-T, or run
gnome-terminal in some other way, to open a terminal with a regular shell.

The shell terminal is marked on the icon for the custom launcher, not
for the terminal launcher.

It's also the case with application running under Wine.

In this case there is the wine glass icon instead of application icon.

Hi,

I think I have the same issue. There are two custom launchers in my Unity bar (migrated from 10.10, but I think that's not relevant). Each launcher opens rdesktop with a different IP address; let's say for Computer1 and Computer2.

If a click on the launcher for "rdesktop Computer1" the application opens and connects to the right computer (I can log in and work as usual). However, the icon for "rdesktop Computer2" is the one that is highlighted as "open" and as "active" (when the window is active).
Clicking on this launcher for Computer2 focuses the application as you would expect; just that it's the wrong icon with the wrong name (and configuration).

I have tried and the order of the icons on the bar doesn't make a difference; the same one gets "linked" to the opened app.
After trying to change the launcher names to see if that had an effect, now none of the icons is marked. I either get a question mark icon associated to the opened app or I don't get any association at all. Weird.
