Bug Description
Unity and window action (show / min / max /close) is focused on the top left of the screen. However the two standard lenses (Applications and Files & Folders) are at the bottom of the stack and on most smaller screen devices in a "tilted" or "hidden state". This is not only counter intuitive (the Application & Places menu until now was also in the top left corner), it increases the mouse travel distance (when activating Unity from a hidden state) from top to the bottom of the screen every time a lens action is required. These lenses should be on the top of the stack - not the bottom and always "visible" i.e. not tilted. There is also no explanation for new users to right click on the lens to view the list options.
In Oneiric as I read in a bug report. You will be able to move any icon in the launcher anywhere. added ayatana-design and marked the bug as incomplete till we wait from people responsible for the design of the Desktop.
