Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

When using the launcher in Unity (Natty beta 2), the launcher will not produce an error message if the executable is not found, e.g. when I tried to start inkscape and inkscape was not installed, nothing happened. This confuses the user.

Pressing Alt+F2 and running a wrong/invalid command should return an error message.

I think same issue is being addressed by bug 749690. Marking as duplicate.
