Unity freeze after login

Binary package hint: unity

- Login
- I see the wallpaper and nothing else, no unity or launcher
- I can move cursor, for first 1-2 minuts but i can't do anything. I can do CTRL-ALT F1 etc..
- After 2-3 minutes freeze cursor and keyboard, and i can't do anything, CTRL-ALT F1 too
- i can only power off

The same things have happened to me. I dont really know if the problem was occured in Virtualbox. I will check and post a new comment if it happens again.

Hello.
I had similar problem. Unity was hanging at startup. Sometimes there was only launcher, sometimes launcher + indicators + keyring password prompt. After I tried Ubuntu Classic, turned out that there was similar problem there. Furthermore, failsafe (low graphic) mode was running ok.
I tried to remove nvidia drivers, but now Ubuntu is not starting at all.

I can try to bring it to life today and get some logs, but you must tell be what logs do you need and how to get them.

Alessio, if you can still move the cursor, try right click to create a launcher for unity (Name: Unity or whatever | Command: unity)
I got the same problem and I can still start unity by that way. After that, I found out that unity is not in startup application any more. Weird, isn't it?

I had this same problem with an ATI Radeon 3000 on board graphics system. Installed the fglrx drivers which fixed the problem. System now works with Unity.
