Bug Description

While in Ubuntu classic in Ubuntu 11.04 beta, I activated cube and rotate cube. When I logout and go into Ubuntu default (unity 3d) there is no menu bar nor a Unity dock. Even if I disable the cube and rotate cube in Ubuntu classic, Unity remains the same (no menu bar nor Unity dock).

When you get such a behavior in Unity 3d then please switch to a virtual terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2, then log in and type this:

DISPLAY=:0 unity --reset

I hope that fixes the issue. If not then it seems to be a bug.

This could be related to 777576 - enabling Desktop Cube and Rotate Cube messes up the desktop effects settings.
