Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

After my Thursday update of Natty I have noticed that the menus/Filters for both the App and Files Dash areas have stopped responding.
The App Dash has a filter on the right with "All Applications"," Accessories " etc but if you try and change it, it does not respond. The same is true in the Files Dash, if you try and change it from "All Files" nothing happens.

I Have tested this before so it must have broken in a recent change.

Cheers,

AT

I'm experiencing the same problem on Natty Alpha 3 with daily updates, but apart from this "me too" statement", I want to point out that the dashes menus/filters are poorly integrated graphically in Unity 3d.

Just compare the 2 screenshots attached, one showing these menus/filters in Unity 3d (unfitted gray background, fonts too small, etc.), the other in Unity 2d where the graphical/theme integration is much more consistent and coherent with the Unity experience. IMHO, we need the same in Unity 3d!

Thanks.

(I don't think that this integration thing needs a specific bug/whish report, but I'll open one if necessary)

@Marco: Yeah, this is a known disparity between Unity and Unity2D. While U3D might get some love and polish applied in this particular area it's highly unlikely it will end up with visuals like U2D for Natty. There are some pretty deep technical issues here that we need to figure out between the two projects for Oneiric (if you really really want the details hunt me down on IRC, #ayatana on FreeNode, I'm 'kamstrup' :-)).
