unity-panel-service consumes huge amount of memory

I suspect a serious memory leak in "unity-panel-service" somewhere,
after only one day of usage it already consumes 300M RES und 622M VIRT.
I even observed a much higher memory usage > 1 G RES after a few days of usage...
