Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

This happened after installing the latest natty updates and rebooting. As soon as I was logged in, I tried click-dragging an icon in the dock to reorganize them. Then the dock and panel disappeared and apport started firing.

This also seems to have eaten up my keyboard as well (at least within the GUI). Apport opened up Firefox which opened with no border or title bar or any sort of navigation bar at all. I was unable to actually type in the text box for the bug report, so I had to do this from a different machine.

I can very reliably recreate this on a Thinkpad x201. As soon as I'm logged in, simply grabbing an icon in the dock and dragging it out and down and releasing it causes comiz/unity to crash.

Also, for kicks I ran /usr/lib/unity/autopilot.py and that successfully passed. but as soon as I tried dragging icons manually (recreating the steps autopilot.py performs manually), compiz/unity crashed.
