Unity is confused by my two monitor configuration

I've got two monitors configured, one laptop LCD and one external monitor via DVI. They are arranged with the laptop LCD on the right and the external monitor on the left.

The unity bar is coming up between the two monitors. When I mouse over it, I see mouse over text on the left monitor, even though the bar is on the right.

The top application bar only is on one monitor although oddly the sensitivity to the mouse doesn't work when I get to the top of that bar for menus.
