Bug Description
I was not able to find an existing bug that cites this problem as general across many applications, but I apologize if it exists and I missed it. So far, I have only observed it in Unison, a Dropbox-like file sync program.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Unison.
2. Create a new profile, or select an existing one.
Expected behavior:
Sequence of "Root selection" dialog boxes appears, in which it is possible to select two directories to synchronize.
Actual behavior:
Although a Unison process remains running, the Unison GUI can no longer be found. Its icon disappears from Unity's launcher. It is not available among windows to cycle through via Alt-Tab.
Workaround:
Leave Unity for the original Ubuntu desktop.

Hi, can you confirm that the windows appear when running Unison under plain /compiz/, and the natty 0.9 version in particular. Ie if it's only when the unity plugin is loaded that the problem appear.
Considering this is the case, it sounds like a problem similar to issues we've had with Mumble.
