I have an Acer Aspire 5516 with ATI Radeon graphics, and the AMD Athlon 64 bit mobile processor. Any time I try to make ANY change or simply try to apply a setting for Compiz Fusion within the Unity environment, the Unity interface will lock up for several moments, and will not respond to any keyboard or mouse commands. In order to regain control of my install of Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha, I am forced to press CTRL+ALT+F2 to enter a terminal window, followed by CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot my laptop. When Unity locks up after a change in Compiz Fusion, it doesn't respond to the CTRL+ALT+DEL key combination while the GUI is present. Please let us know whether there's a solution for this.
