Bug Description
Binary package hint: unity
Files in ~/Desktop not shown on the desktop. I use the desktop heavily to store, move, and work on files. With unity I see only the desktop background. That's a huge place without usage.

Thanks Benjamin for this bug report.
This is some kind of design decision. For this iteration, we won't show the file on the ~/Desktop as well. The idea is to click on the dash and search.
If you want to discuss it, I think the ayatana mailing list is the right place for it.
