Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Using the current maverick versions, clicking on the "ubuntu" logo in the corner leads to open the place view but with nothing selected, why not select one place by default it would have an higher chance to be useful than an empty screen...

Again, this is already designed but not implemented.

The default place should be the global place, as per specs. The place-daemon side code is there, just not the views.
