Bug Description
I've tried several solutions to fix screen tearing in 16.04, but nothing seems to work. Screen tearing is so bad that the display is fragmented into 2-4 horizontal and diagonal sections during any scrolling event, along with artifacts while updating the screen in any way, like videos, new tabs, opening programs, moving windows, etc... This issue started occurring after a re-installation of libunity-core-6.0-9 and compiz packages. I attempted to remedy the situation by installing Nvidia drivers, thinking they might help compared to nouveau, but no change.
