Bug Description

This problem appeared immediately after my upgrade to ubuntu 18.04.

I have been running an external monitor in portrait mode and this worked fine until the upgrade to 18.04.

In gnome-control-center >> Devices >> Displays, when I select Orientation = Portrait for the external monitor and then apply the change, the external monitor does not appear to receive a signal from the computer (the monitor goes into power-save mode).

The external monitor works normally with the selection Orientation = Landscape.

Description: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Release: 18.04

18.04 doesn't use Unity. Try file a bug against gnome-setings-daemon.
