Graphics: Intel® Iris 6100 (Broadwell GT3)

uname -r: 4.8.0-41-generic
Chrome version: Version 57.0.2987.110 (64-bit)

When I have chrome windows open, and switch desktops, chrome and compiz cpu shoot up to between 25% and 105% of my cpu (shown in top).

It appears this issue has been documented since 14.04. https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1293384

I have been researching for several weeks. A short term solution was disabling hardware acceleration in chrome. However, the issue has arisen once again.

I have been all over google and tried multivarious solutions, none have worked. There is no solution, this is a bug. Let me know what I can do to help you guys solve it.
