Bug Description

This is just an artwork/aesthetic issue
The software update window doesn't shows properly the downloading files "progress bars", when expanding this window area it shows just partially one of the progress bars.
Similar occurs once installing the new packages, when expanding the terminal window area this shows a single line of commands , instead of the full terminal screen area.

This occurs on my PC since 16.10 update

Enclosed a video that shows this problem.

System data:

Ubuntu 16.10 64 bits
Description: Ubuntu 16.10
Release: 16.10

unity 7.5.0

The non-expansion of the text/data area when the software updater window is expanded has carried over to Ubuntu 17.04. Fortunately, the initial size is now bigger than the previous one line, but extending the window to the bottom of the screen does not result in any increase in the text area size. This is similar to bug 1661898, which mentions just the text area.

See bug 1640717 and 1661898 for possible additional issues with this software updater window. My hardware is a UEFI machine, Nvidia Quadro 1000M running either nouveau or Nvidia drivers.

I have the same problem on more physical PC's and VMware virtual machines including Ubuntu 17.10. I suppose it is not Unity problem but update manager in GUI. The issue persists at least two years from version 16! Actually I have only one server running with old Ubuntu 14.04 LTS which is OK. All others have the same issue. Am I alone who is disgusted the problem persists such long time?
