Launcher not displaying open apps after login

Bug Description
After the login, if I open an app, the launcher doesn't display it as open. If the open app is one of the apps already in the launcher, clicking on it opens a new instance of the app instead of focusing.
Workaround:
- reset unity from terminal ```unity```
